A DAY IN THE CITY....Melbourne is SOOO Cool. Get on a train or tram and check it out

Hi Sunday people,

What a weekend it's been of triumph and tragedy.....

May Amy Winehouse rest in peace - poor darling.  It's so devastating when young peoples lives are cut short - it's just such a huge loss ( no matter what you think of them).  Addiction is such a Fking dreadful thing to have and live with.

On a lighter note - Cadel Evans is our Champion.  His heartfelt speech at the press conference yesterday was so moving.  Bring on the tears of joy and relief Cadel, we love you!!!!
New overall leader Cadel Evans of Australia celebrates on the podium during the 20th stage of the Tour de France cycling race, an individual time tria

I spent the day in Melbourne City yesterday and it was marvelous.  I had a bit of work to do, then I took myself off to lunch at The Hu Tong Dumpling Bar, 14 - 16 Market Lane, Melbourne.  They also have a lovely restaurant in Prahran, below The Cullen in Commercial Road.  I think I ate a few too many dumplings - but MAN they are sooooo yummy. Maybe not quite as good as the Tea House in Chapel St but still totally yummy.

photo

From there, I hot footed it to the Bourke St Mall. My GOD, there were so many people around - it was really cool.  It felt like a small Manhattan. I checked out the department stores, and finally bought my MAC Mineral Bronzer, 'Give Me Sun'.  See my previous blog about this fantastic product.  I felt like I won the lotto but no - I had a huge surprise ahead.

BOURKE STREET MALL.....

I then ventured down Flinders Lane and I found PEEPTOE!  They had just opened this week. This company is an Australian owned business. Based on beautiful design, perfection and love.

I will do a full story on Peeptoe soon.  In the meantime, get your butt in there for some serious shopping for Shoes, Bags and Jewellery.  This is an amazing store. Congratulation's!

The best thing of the day, week and month was walking into Howie Place and seeing the NEVENKA store.  I thought to myself ....'I hope Rosemary is there'...low and behold, I walk in and see Rosemary - designer, owner of Nevenka and overall beautiful Person.  It was such a lovely reunion as I worked for Rosemary a number of years ago before moving interstate.

AW 11

The best thing is...that I may be working with Rosemary again in the very near future.  Her clothing, fabrics and nature are not only beautiful, but also thought provoking and seem to provide memories of days gone by, or special moments yet to come!

The Universe really does deliver if you let it....  So let it!

Be grateful for everything you have and for being  you. You are the best you have - please LOVE yourself.

SUE BARRETT..AND GLEN EIRA COUNCIL...Totally cool!!

Hi lovelies

Just a quick one tonight. I was down in Torquay (Jan Juc) for five days and got back Tuesday night.  Have been flat out since then.

I just went to a fantastic sales seminar called 'Sell Like a Woman' by Sue Barrett at Glen Eira Town Hall.  It was so inspirational.  Sue is incredibly intelligent, approachable and fearless (in a kind way)  Please do  check out  her website and background http://www.barrett.com.au/.  She is a great woman.  With a great story.

The city of Glen Eira have so many informative and motivational seminars coming up.  It's definitely worth checking out their website:  http://www.gleneira.vic.gov.au/ .  Lyndy, the business development manager is an amazing supporter (and promoter) of small business, and a lovely lady.  She would be keen to hear from you.

Sue Barrett....

Oh .....and I have to tell you, Sue Barrett wore the most exquisite John Paul Gaultier long line, finely knitted cardigan coat. It had a gorgeous paisley type print on the front and block colours on the back - all in subtle jewel colours.  It was so yummy.  She picked it up from one of those second hand designer stores.  Like Secondo etc...  So remember to check these stores out.  There are quite a few around town.  I will endeavour to source a number of good ones for you.

BTW.....

Whilst I was out about today, I managed to finally eat at this fantastic Japanese cafe called ROLLS!

The food is seriously yummy and cheap.  That includes lovely hot meals too.  So, while your down Carlisle street, be good to yourself and eat some yummy Japanese food from Rolls. Or maybe make a special trip - it's definitely worth it.  All details below.

I SEE RED, I SEE RED, I SEE RED....I love red...

Hi Spunks,

I hope you're all well and happy.  Thanks for the great feedback recently.  I really appreciate it.

So tonight's blog is all about RED!  I have always found red quite scary.  I felt a little slutty in red.  Now, I have finally grown into it - just this week!  In fact I am falling in love with red clothing. On the proviso it is well made!!! No crappy red stuff thanks.

LIPS FIRST

I love Cameron's natural look with fabulous RED LIPS.

Kate smolders in Red...although she is a super model after all!!!

To wear red lips you MUST keep the rest of your make up soft. A beautiful makeup base and a sweep of blush/bronzer with a lovely soft eye - whatever suits you the best.  Gwen Stefani can wear this heavy look but most of us can't.   So if you're going for RED LIPS, go for Cameron's look.

Megan Fox - such a fox. She wears RED like she was born in it....

Apparently anyone can wear Red Lippy, you just need to find the right one for you.  Check this sight out....loads of tips on what red is right for you:

http://www.thehairstyler.com/features/articles/beauty/red-lipstick-rules-for-hair-color-and-complexion

RED DRESSING

With red dressing, please don't overdo the accessories or make up. Perhaps you could have an up do with the hair but go minimal on jewels and makeup. You will look so much hotter being natural....

For 35 and below..........a few ideas...

RED CARPET
Heidi Klum doing RED at it's best.  So gorgeous....

Nicole looks absolutely sensational in this Valentino Gown...WOW!!!! And her makeup is beautiful.

VALENTINO'S last show..... Red is one of his ultimate faves! Along with Black and White.

RED COATS.... how about one of these for this winter????

A Tench with a Twist.

Not quite the Pea Coat - but close enough....

How beautiful is this one....

Fitted jacket with faux fur trim - beautiful....

Red is Regal, Red is hot. It's a strong color that conjures up a range of seemingly conflicting emotions from passionate love to violence. Red is Cupid and the Devil.
A stimulant, red is the hottest of the warm colours. Studies show that red can have a physical effect, increasing the rate of respiration and raising blood pressure.
The expression seeing red indicates anger and may stem not only from the stimulus of the color but from the natural flush (redness) of the cheeks, a physical reaction to anger, increased blood pressure, or physical exertion.
Red is power, hence the red power tie for business people and the red carpet for celebrities and VIPs (very important people).

After all these years, I finally am falling in love with RED.

Viva la Rouge...

Much Love and red hot kisses (ha ha)

PS:  Cate B in RED....sooooo beautiful.
Her makeup and hair are perfect. x

WIDE LEG PANTS ARE TOTALLY IN!

Hi Y'all

I hope you all enjoyed a fantastic weekend.

Welcome to Winter!  The bottom half of Australia is enjoying a very cold snap, to say the least! That said, I love it. I love wearing layers with yummy coats, faux fur jackets, collars, fabulous scarves, beanies, gloves and hats.  We are very lucky down here to be able to make the most of the gorgeous winter clothing and the rest of our wardrobes.

Along with that, the Snow! How beautiful is all this snow we are getting? It's always great to have a good ski season - all good for the economy I say.

NO, I am not doing a story on Apres Ski or Ski Gear! Those who know me, would definitely think I had lost my mind, given I love the snow but I get there once a year, if I am lucky.  Once I am there, I enjoy snow plowing down 'Standard' run (or the equivalent) at Mt Buller all day long.  By the end of the day, I quite fancy myself as a professional!! ha ha ha...

Tonight's blog is about WIDE LEG PANTS! One of the hottest looks for this Summer and Winter 2012.

Wide Leg Pants are Stylish, Cool and Effortless. I love them.  I actually went into Zara a few weeks ago just to find a pair of wide leg pants as no one else had them at that time.  Zara had a great pair of pants for $79.95.  The fabric was average (a little cheap) but if you were to pop them on with a beautiful silk blouse or fabulous jacket, then you would be looking very stylish indeed.

A lovely tweedy look for Winter...

WIDE LEGS ON THE RUNWAY.......

I love the Olsen's in their wide leg pants.  Photographed in June this year...
Ashley                             Mary-Kate

This white suit is my favourite....

How to wear wide leg pants:

1. You do not need to be slim.  However, the pant needs to be fitted through to the lower hip (no lower), then drape through to the floor.

2.  Large Thighs do not work with wide leg pants - they are unforgiving in the drape of the pant. If the pant is sticking to your thighs, then don't buy them.

3.  Be careful if you are short.  They can make you look big, rather than elongating you.  If you are short - ensure you wear heels or flatforms to give you the height.  Check out the Olsen twins above.

4.  To give you that beautiful long legged stylish look, make sure the hem of your pants just about grazes the floor (in your heels).  Wear high heels - wedges, flatforms or stilettos.  This creates that lovely elongated look which is so lovely.  I love Elle McPherson in this look - she looks seriously fabulous!

5.  If you're tall, you will look sensational in this beautiful style. You long legged lovelies can wear wide leg pants with ballet flats, cool trainers and flat sandals in summer.  Tres chic!

6.  Do not confuse wide leg pants with Flares!  Flares are fitted through the bum, hips, upper legs and flare out from the knee.  These are cute and cool but a lot harder to wear for most women.

7.  Be aware of the waistline.  The most flattering styles in the WLP have a wide waist band which sits on the upper to mid hip. The man style tab pant is a great look.
You really need to be slim with a flat tummy to wear the high waisted version.

You will see wide leg pants appearing in cool boutiques, designer stores, chain and departments stores.  For summer look at beautiful, heavy, drapey fabric such as linen.  Linen is making a big comeback.  There are many other fabrics, but try to by something with some natural fibre in the content, as it tends to make the fabric look more sophisticated, less shiny and wears better.

Here's a  pair from Country Road this season, for $129.
Flared Pant
Don't stop here though - have a look around.  Find the right pair for you.  I'll keep looking around and let you know when I come across hot WLPs. I would LOVE feed back...

Hope you love them as much as me.

TWO FABULOUS WEDDINGS AND 3 DAY FASTIVALS!!!!

Well Hello

WOW! What a weekend it's been for the seriously rich and famous.  Kate Moss married Jamie Hince on Friday.  Then Prince Albert of Monaco married Charlene Wittstock yesterday.

Kate and Jamie...

I love a good wedding, don't we all?  Especially when its the most famous supermodel (or a Prince). Kate looked LOVELY...happy, beautiful, radiant and relaxed in her stunning John Galliano wedding gown with the most GORGEOUS VEIL '1900's style' - take note Brides to be!  This is the first marriage for both Kate and Jamie.

Jamie wore YSL and looked fabulous.  What a Dude, not many guys can carry this suit off....

So happy: The bride has never looked happier as she smiles for the cameras

Married on Friday the 1st of July, in the town of Little Faringdon, Oxfordshire, UK. Then back to Kate and Jamie's property for a three day celebration.

The supermodel, 37, and new hubby Jamie Hince, 42, gave every resident in Little Faringdon, Oxfordshire, a bottle of Moët before they treated VIP guests to the three-day party at her £2million farmhouse.
Kate’s aides dropped off the gifts with handwritten notes on “Kate and Jamie” headed paper saying: “Thank you for your patience and understanding... Lots of love Kate and Jamie

Here comes the bride with her Dad and Daughter, Lila.  So pretty and so happy.

Bryan Ferry performed at the reception that went til 5am. It also featured trapeze artists, burlesque performers and more bands. The partying continued on Saturday, with a post-wedding lunch at Kate’s favourite local pub, The Swan in nearby Southrop.  Then, apparently it was home for Shirley Bassey LIVE!

THE MONACO ROYAL WEDDING

Yesterday, the former South African Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock married her Prince.  Prince Albert II of Monaco.  The couple exchanged vowes in front of 850 guests.  The incredibly beautiful bride wore an off the shoulder Armani dress with a 5 metre train - all of which was covered with over 40,000 Swarovski Crystals.

WOW what a weekend and they are both still going.  So, is this the new trend?   A 3 day festival Wedding??

Personally, I would love to get married and look like either of these incredibly beautiful brides. Although, I think a big night and maybe a late lunch the next day would be enough for me.  After which, I would want to be taking off on a kick arse tropical holiday, with my beautiful new husband.

BTW, there were guests that overlapped with the Moss/Hince and Royal wedding.  Kate and Jamie were originally getting married on Saturday the 2nd but pulled it back to the 1st.  Well done!

Kate and Charlene both changed into new dresses for their reception dinner parties.  This is another trend to look at girls.  The Duchess of Cambridge did the same......

Talk to you soon
